About Kaila Nike
Kaila Nike is a dedicated single mother who pours her heart into everything she does. Raising her boys as a single parent for the past fifteen years hasn't always been easy, but she's always put one foot in front of the other, giving it all she's got. She wants nothing more than to show her sons that, if they put their mind to it, they can do anything. And that goes for anyone who who wishes to follow their dreams. Kaila is a testament to what's possible and hopes to inspire others who might just need a little nudge in the right direction.
Kaila spent thirteen months, from the time she first sat down to write Mystique, to the time it became officially published, working hard each day to bring this story to life. It is a story she holds close to her heart and is so excited to share it with the world. Mystique is book one of the Mystique series. Born and raised in British Columbia, Kaila is a dedicated mother raising two wonderful sons. Her favourite pastime is spent with her boys playing board games, video games, hiking, biking, lake days, tobogganing in the winter, and talking about the worlds she's creating and wishes to create. Her boys love to hear her stories and enjoy the front row seat as she brings them to life. They even like to get out once or twice each year to go on a road trip through the beautiful province of British Columbia, either visiting the busy city life in Vancouver, attending concerts, or travelling through the mountains and visiting the lakes, hot springs, and glaciers. There is always something fun to get up to.
Kaila spent several years working in a school setting with vulnerable children. Although she loved the job, after much deliberation, she was compelled to leave. It was not an easy decision, but she found a stress-free job that she enjoyed very much. However, after a year working this job, she was given ten days notice that she would be losing it. Throughout all the years that she spent at work she always longed to create a different life for herself. She's always dreamed of being a 'real' writer, but as a full time single parent, working full time, her dream of building a career through her writing had never taken a front seat. Even though she liked to write in her spare time, it never become a main priority.
With the ten days notice that she would be unemployed she jumped on the opportunity to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an author. The adversity and triumphs she's experienced with failed and toxic relationships has motivated and led her to write this story, a story that has been on her mind for several years, eagerly waiting to be told. While loosely inspired by true events, this novel was written while on a remarkable journey of healing and self discovery.
Kaila not only writes romantasy. While this is of particular interest to her, she also enjoys sharing what she has learned over the years in regard to personal growth and development. As such, she has participated in several different anthologies with many other talented and successful women. While the road isn't always easy, it is her hope that she can inspire others to chase their dreams as well.
Balancing her responsibilities with her writing career hasn't always been easy. Finding time to write and navigating the publishing world requires dedication and perseverance and Kaila is eternally grateful for the unwavering support and belief she receives from her family and friends.
